Words as Bullets
Glued to captivating screen,
Rattling lungs longing for nicotine,
For smoke to fill my mind,
Not think how I wind.
Send shivers down my spine,
As your words without rhyme,
Force me to close my eyes,
So the havoc remains inside.
Silver bullets for my heart,
Loaded, shot,
Each playing their part,
Every sentence hitting it’s mark,
Still afraid of the dark.
You carry in your heart,
Let me help you restart,
Before your pain morphs to wrath,
And you lose your rightful path.
