Streetlight Sunrise
Tears streaming like rivers carving canyons,
Staring on-wards towards the horizon,
The abyss reaching for your soul.
Cold neon lights splitting shadows in the dim moonlight,
Echoes mingling with the wind, howling, resounding in the oblivion.
The pale trees holding communion for the restless. Rippled by the dark of night.
Asphalt crumbling, as the weight of your thoughts mingled with the silver dripping from your eyes, hit the earth.
Shaking, stumbling searching for anything to lock on to. Only the freezing rays from the crystal sky tearing into soft skin.
The all consuming fires shielding the lost from the merciless above.
Creating skyscrapers of mist, as the gasoline bathes the world in warmth.
Senses clouded by the veils of despair. Lips unable to speak a word, mind unable to hold onto sanity.
Gold creeping, crawling. Slowly etching closer and closer. Absorbing everything in its path.
Unrelenting and insatiable.
Every moment closer to the irresistible end.
Come cleanse this shell.
Erase their sins and lead them to glory.
