Rainbow of Dread
In the ever flowing river of life,
Somber sticks and shallow depths.
Take me back to hallowed days,
When the days seemed bright,
And scary was the dark of night,
When senselessness was just a possibility.
Tell me oracle of restless ruin,
The aimless currents pulling down,
The muddy waters cutting deep,
Slicing with cheap razor blades,
Till forced to sleep.
Is it all just puzzle to rebuild,
Is it turbulent chaos waiting to bloom.
Black fading to absurd grey,
White morphing to worthless fume.
Compass frozen, broken clock,
Faded flags singing eerie hymns,
All once solid rock,
Now just ridiculous sand.
Shadows looming at the pearly gates,
What once seemed incredibly great,
Just names chiseled into solid stone,
With dying rays, delivered fate.
