Nostalgia Lost to Sea

Apologizing on a falling star,
Lost inside an empty war,
Running from the piercing truth.

We should have taken time,
Instead of chasing glory in the sky,
To care for each other,
Instead, Seared by our high.

Together,
Gazing at the stars,
Setting fire to our burning hearts,

Burning down the walls,
That kept us locked inside.

Wings scorched by the sun,
Always on the run,
Sinking into endless void,
The voices growing paranoid.

Raising castles from the sea,
Fallen to despair,
Aching to be free,
Of screaming silent sea.

Once more,
Marvel at the stars,
Set fire to our broken hearts,

Burn down the walls,
Crumbling ashen halls,
That keep us locked inside.

Diving deep, black waters creep,
Hands lose grip, lights out, one last drip.

Vaporize what flows in veins,
Emotions that shackle us in chains,
Chasing oceans along selene,
Feeding our fires with gasoline.

Gazing at the moon,
Forging our misfortune,
Up in flames the walls,
That kept us safe inside.

In the end, I
Dredge for walls lost to sea,
To feel, what it means to finally be free.
