Letter Storm

Circling the enshrouded skies,
Distant echos of last goodbyes,
Letters raining down on us,
Don’t know anymore why all this fuss,

Bleak brush strokes rushing on the black,
Screams and pleas drained out by thunder’s crack,
The lost seeking temporary shelter,
While thoughts torrent and skelter,

Earthshine hidden behind ruptured cloak,
Serene moonlight held in cosmic choke,
Whirlwind words tearing through,
Walls who’ve withered, who silently rue,

Streams of conscience rafting,
On the horrid currents everlasting,
Vicious circles eating away,
Driving us indefinitely insane.
