God Is Dead, Long Live God

What do we need a devil for if our gods are demons,
We wear their chains and call ourselves free men,
What atrocities did they commit to be called heroes,
Their deeds deserving the title of emperor Nero,

Dreams of calimity twisted to dreams of rightousness,
The one thing we battle is the great emptiness,
While the soldiers fall in the name of greatness,
We watch as it all makes way for hatefulness,

Who are we praying to if our heroes are evil,
The sins we glorify the most primeval,
Dancing in the minds of the lost,
Our parasitic brains their hosts,

Drowsy sheep loving their fences,
For they muffle the wolves’ senses,
Nevermind the sheppard slaughtering,
And eating one by one till there are none,

The monsters we made into bright constellations,
Left us down at the bottom with the cetaceans,
Destroying what used to be here,
Grasped by primal fear,

Different we are, from the one’s we call stars,
Different we are, from the one’s we shower with disgust,
Different we are, from the one’s behind bars,
Different we only are because we lost trust, In all we used to love.

WIthout happiness we sow hate,
Perhaps it was always our fate,
When humans become gods,
And we never stopped to call it fraud.
