Everyday Evening Arson
Tonight I set fire to the world,
infected by the poison in my veins.
Dancing to sweet melodies carried by bitter winds,
ecstasy delivered by notes to an eerie beat.
Gazing into the infernos raging in your eyes,
ready to break free.
Watch them consume the absurd scenery before you,
with the hunger of the void.
Decoding the misty waves running on uncanny frequencies,
exhaling the thunderstorm of tomorrow night.
Transmitting ciphers into the unknown of the tepid night,
glaring streetlights forming a new sky to gaze upon.
Singing in the wrong scale,
Spirits rising with the key,
Joined by the pillars of smoke from the world ablaze.
Living not for life’s sake but for the freedom in our hearts,
giving up meaning to break the shackles of purpose.
Hallucinations of better times just depicting this very moment,
sailing on strange ships through foreign dreams.
Come hold my hand while we admire our blaze,
let us rest our thoughts next to the embers of our frenzy.
Till tomorrow.
Where we begin anew,
Where the fires haven’t burned yet,
Where you and I can still make history.
