Dead Eyed Gaze

Quivering as the darkness slithers in,
Vipers whispering,
Exiguous and plain, the antidote,
Against the marauding pain.

Riptides rocking veil meant to hide,
Fleeting tears reaped by tide,
Veering into bleeding sun,
My body, soul aching to run.

Bird songs forcibly dragging me back,
From abyss’ edge, where all is darker than black,
Lullabies sung, for hanged man, spun,
Rain to tears, as the world breaks, undone.
Fissures shredding plane, Impossibly high to deepest low,
Calamity casting broken shadow,
Mountains split, duality what’s left behind,
Reality now morbidly realigned.

Peering onto rotting carcase,
Teary eyes unwilling to trace,
War against the uncaring void,
You, only one hurt by your asteroid.

Broken heart unable to sever the string,
No human able to usurp the fallen king,
Knives digging softly, to kill your pain,
Your sorrow, all in vain.

Unquenchable vengeance, to make me feel,
Easily forgotten my fractured heart, is just as real,
Noxious hail from kindred charms,
Still I’d welcome you with open arms.

Torrents flooding blood drained face,
Wishing you wouldn’t have withered,
Instead have considered,
That this never was an unwinnable race.

Villainous vines, grasping in one last desperate try,
No longer knowing if venom or love is what they imply,
Cascade of mine, crashing into pyre of yours,
Never wanted what feels like endless wars.
