An Ode To Gloom
Night of new beginnings,
Night of broken walls.
Daylight fading, making way for you.
Riding on your steed of shadow.
Sprung from Chaos,
Along with darkness.
You are night, you are my light.
Driving away the worries of day,
Making way for the love of nightide.
Erebus’ pull setting alight,
All cumbersome worries in our souls.
Day after day, I endlessly stroll,
Rivers and mountains, left lying by the wayside,
Holding out to find where you leave me to,
whom you leave me for.
Day after day,
Holding out your alluring hand,
Your gravity demanding me to dance.
The stars your eternal sentinels,
The angels you sent to guard over me,
Only most loyal,
Only most watchful.
Pulling light on a collar woven of dark,
Guiding the sun beyond the edge of this world.
And I wonder where you’ll be tomorrow,
When Aether and Hemera retake the skies.
Will you still welcome me?
The screaming of hooves, echoing through dusk and dawn.
And I shine, so you might mistake me for a star,
So I just might get a glance,-
Only one fleeting glance,
Of my lovely Nyx.
